Surplus uses the same formula as the Trade Value Top 500: future WAR converted to $M at $/WAR market rates, then NPV-discounted (10%/yr) on BOTH the value side AND the salary side, summed over remaining team control. Confidence (FV-grade × MLB exposure) is shown for context but no longer compounded into the headline number.
